'Targeted' shooting at home of Oregon worker's comp insurance CEO

Authorities in Lake Oswego have now publicly said they believe last week's shooting at the home of the CEO of the state's workers compensation insurance corporation was "targeted."

On Wednesday, they also shared a surveillance photo of a person identified as a suspect. The blurry image shows the person wearing all dark clothes with a possible hoodie or ski mask. Police said the person held a light-colored object and had a car parked nearby.

Lake Oswego police officers responded to reports of gunshots at the Melrose Place home of Chip Terhune, the chief executive of the SAIF Corporation, early Friday morning. Police said an unknown suspect fired several rounds into the home and left the area on foot.

Police said the shooting — which is believed to have happened Friday between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. — caused minor damage to the home, including to the front door. No one was injured.
