According to [source], thieves cut through fiber optic cables which caused service disruptions for emergency services and first responders and the loss of internet for residents and businesses in the area. One provider, they said, experienced four fiber cuts in the span of four days.
Authorities believe the vandalism of the cables happened during the early morning hours near walking trails or where utility poles are accessible across the county.
