About $1 million in damages were reported when nearly a dozen commercial vehicles were burned and vandalized at a construction site off of Interstate 84 in Farmington over the weekend.
Troopers said they were contacted Monday just after 10:45 a.m. by Hammonasset Construction, who reported that several vehicles parked at the site in the area of Exit 39A had been damaged sometime over the weekend.
Troopers responded to the site and found several commercial vehicles "heavily damaged by fire" and several others vandalized within a secluded construction yard off the highway, state police said. According to state police, 11 vehicles were damaged. Hammonasset Construction estimated that the damages totaled about $1 million.
